Chapter 12

A Wonderful Church

Latter-day Saint temples throughout the world, including those newly constructed, are adorned
with beautiful Christmas lighting—The Church is true to its name.

Among the landmarks in this city was a religious edifice, something referred to by many
as a “Mormon temple." By any objective measure, it was one of the most beautiful buildings to
be found. Standing tall, it was quiet and serene. No sound of a church bell had ever been heard
from its tower. Set apart from the rest, and having the authority of God to perform the ordinances
therein, it stood by, ready for use. If buildings, and not just their occupants, were capable of
being happy, then surely, this magnificent temple building was happy on this day! Special
Christmas lighting had been set out quickly upon the grounds once the earth was calm. A special
celebration and the use of Christmas lights had been approved today on the spur of the moment
for all temples of the Church worldwide. Oh, what a day to be a temple worker!

There had been reports, although unsubstantiated, of several other temples newly
announced by the Church in recent hours. We will mention just one. This new temple had been
constructed to match the design and architecture of the original Salt Lake Temple, but with more
of a white marble or pearl-colored finish on the exterior. From a short distance, the use of gold in
many areas could also be seen. Most amazing of all, though, was its supposed location––standing
out upon an island of its own, just off the eastern seaboard of the United States. Surrounded by
white-capped waves and stormy waters, its powerful silhouette and brilliant lighting were
magnificent to see. The “Atlantic Ocean Temple” or something to that effect? No one yet knew.
But again, this was just one of many rumors on this day. With so much going on minute by
minute, it was hard to keep track of everything.

Like all of the other celestial things on earth at the close of this millennium, the Church
had fulfilled the measure of its creation. It had been, as described accurately by its name, The
Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

The End.
"}
