Chapter 9

Blessings and More Blessings

The prosperity of the plant brings significant rewards to the Chandlers—In the strength of the
Lord, Mark accomplishes great things.

In the days that followed the company Christmas party, Kathleen was more talkative and
animated at dinnertime than usual. Having participated in a tour of the plant, she had seen its
internal workings and many more of the interesting people who worked with her husband every
day. Mark’s job at the plant was safe—that much was clear. In fact, he was somewhat of a star
now, even singled out for praise by Mr. and Mrs. Dannehy during their presentation before all
the employees.

Mark and Kathleen met with Robert in his office after the party. He presented them with
an envelope containing a large bonus check from the Dannehys, along with their warmest
Christmas wishes. Included as well was notice of an increase to Mark’s salary that would start in
the new year. These acts of generosity were heartily received by the Chandlers. Kathleen sensed
a genuine feeling of appreciation towards her husband on the part of many at the plant, and she
felt a sense of pride in all they had achieved together. But as she turned her eyes upward towards
heaven, her gratitude grew greater still, overwhelmed by the blessings that had been poured out
upon her family.

The plant had become more prosperous than ever before and was positioned for growth
well into the future. Mark had been the catalyst for success at the plant, doing good among those
whom he managed and being an inspiration even to those who managed him.

The Spirit had taken note of Mark’s righteous desires and the decisions in his life that had
brought him this far. The Spirit had looked at his years of experience as a manager, at his
technical skills and the style of his leadership, and at the manner in which he, as a righteous man,
had blessed the lives of his coworkers. Having seen all of these things, the Spirit intervened,
greatly multiplying his works and bringing to pass a wonderful quickening effect throughout the
plant. Through his own efforts, carefully watching over every detail of the plant, Mark had
accomplished much on his own. But as he had gone about his work in the strength of the Lord,
greater things, even astonishing things, had happened. Through an infusion of inspired leadership
and spiritual capital, the plant had attained unheard-of levels of productivity, quality, automation,
on-time delivery, and customer satisfaction.
