About Roy Eddings

There is an old axiom that goes something like this—If the Holy Ghost is the power by
which a new book comes into the world, then that book is going to be really, really good. And
that is the case here with A Wonderful Church. It truly is a special category of book.

Nevertheless, the first question that comes to mind for most readers is probably this: Who
is Roy Eddings? To answer this question, I would like to share with you the following story.

Let's suppose we have an older man, 61 years old, single, and just an average member of
the Church living in Logan, Utah. He doesn't have a famous name, and he doesn't have a long
and storied career in Church leadership. But what he does have is a testimony of the Church that
has grown powerful over the last 30 years. He has developed perfect faith and he has perfect
confidence to receive personal revelation on a daily basis... personal revelation on such a grand
scale that it breaks precedent in the Church and creates a lot of historical firsts. What great things
can a man like this do in his ward, his stake, and even for the Church overall as he goes about his
life in Logan? The answer—amazing things, perhaps even unspeakable things to help lead the
restored gospel forward. The untapped power had by every member of the Church to stand up
and do good in this world of their own volition, without waiting to be explicitly commanded by
the Lord or Church leaders in all things, is breathtaking. That is what the building of Zion is all
about. And that is what A Wonderful Church is all about.
