Principles of Zion, Part XX

 

Loss of Faith, Murmuring, Apostasy

 

 

 

When you pray to God selfishly, and ask amiss, the peace of God will be far from you (JRE Link, 2018-1120 (Tue), COM-STR2).

 

Use the Spirit to resolve any doubts or concerns you have about the Church and her
teachings or policies. Don't descend into hatred of the Church or her leaders. Embracing charity
fully in your life is to know God and His plan of salvation for mankind.

 

Don't point the finger of disbelief. Don't point the finger of scorn.

 

Don't give the Church the back of your hand.

 

Don't undertake counseling with an evil advisor (JRE Link, 2017-0915 (Fri), WSE-MAIN).

 

An angry voice appears on the scene to build contention among us (JRE Link, 2017-0913 (Wed), COM-STR2).

 

Doubting Thomases grow in number as people coalesce around controversy (JRE Link, 2017-0902 (Sat), COM-STR2).

 

Don't lose the Spirit at the hands of men.

 

Don't get lost in the clouds of doubt (JRE Link, 2018-0609 (Sat), COM-STR2).

 

Don't abort the transmission of the Spirit into your life by leaving the Church.

 

Leaving the Church was a big mistake. The opposition voices I followed left me high and
dry in the end (JRE Link, 2018-0409 (Mon), COM-STR2).

 

Fighting against the Church leads to personal ruin. A tragic, self-inflicted wound.

 

Your life of evil on earth is over and you have accomplished nothing. You have fallen
from grace (JRE Link, 2018-0617 (Sun), COM-STR2).

 

Stop smoldering in bitterness. Hatred will destroy your soul.

 

You scream as hell when you raise your voice in murmuring to God (JRE Link, 2018-0625 (Mon), COM-STR2).

 

Stop murmuring and change your mouth. It will make you more fit for prayer.

 

Murmuring turns your heart cold (JRE Link, 2018-0706 (Thu), COM-STR2).

 

Murmuring compromises your integrity. It fills your mouth with vile words (JRE Link, 2018-0706 (Thu), COM-STR2).

 

Murmuring leads to greater wickedness (JRE Link, 2017-0527 (Sat), WSE-MAIN).

 

Be humble, and murmur not at all. There are better words to speak (JRE Link, 2018-1207 (Fri), WSE-MAIN).

 

Don't be rude to the Spirit. Murmuring is beneath you.

 

When you murmur, you are talking over the Spirit, not listening to Him.

 

Stop talking. Listen for the Spirit, rather than murmur.

 

Pray, rather than murmur.

 

Heavenly Father, fill me with perfect love, so that the urge to murmur will disappear.

 

Stop murmuring. Just pray more. God is there waiting for you (JRE Link, 2018-1125 (Sun), COM-STR2).

 

Don't murmur in your prayers. Why don't you just talk with me?

 

What is that look on your face? Murmuring takes away your beautiful smile.

 

Murmuring––a hard-hearted response to life's problems that is counterproductive (JRE Link, 2018-0706 (Thu), COM-STR2).

 

Murmuring—a demoralizing habit that is deadly to your soul.

 

Murmuring—ruin-thee language. The damage may be eternal.

 

Murmuring—a mouthful of vile.

 

Murmuring—your faith is being corrupted.

Murmurer! Murmurer! Depart from me! Thou art a faith destroyer.

 

Heavenly Father, help me to repent and to become fully clean of murmuring.

 

Heavenly Father, help me to be prepared for the unexpected trial.

Murmuring shows that you are human, and that you have weaknesses in life to overcome.
So, repent of your murmuring, and then after repenting, forgive yourself, too.

 

Look within yourself and cast out all evil of murmuring. Only peace will remain (JRE Link, 2021-1223 (Thu), COM-STR2).

 

Enjoy a night of peace, expressing gratitude to God. Don't suffer through a tumultuous
night of murmuring (JRE Link, 2019-0924 (Tue), COM-STR2).

 

Lie in silence at night in bed and murmur not. Listen for the voice of the Spirit to speak
peace unto you to calm your troubled soul.

 

If you can refrain from murmuring, signs will come to support you in your faith.

 

The good outcome that the murmuring man wants can be achieved without murmuring.

 

My hardened heart understands nothing. My softened heart is ready to learn and
understands so much more... helping me to reach a perfect knowledge one day.

 

Murmuring makes you seem uneducated in the finer points of the gospel, both to the Lord
and to the people around you (JRE Link, 2020-0321 (Sat), COM-STR2).

 

A murmurer walks an inconsistent, chaotic road, lacking the peace of mind that comes
from trusting in God (JRE Link, 2021-1210 (Fri), COM-STR2).

 

Evil is the heart of an unrepentant murmurer (JRE Link, 2021-1219 (Sun), COM-STR2).

 

Murmuring makes you devil-mad. You become confused and angry and can't think
straight.

 

Many of the world have great trials and they don't murmur. Some of us have lesser trials
and we do murmur (JRE Link, 2020-1203 (Thu), COM-STR2).

 

There are hills you never climb—the trials of others that you don't have to pass through.

 

Stop whying. Why this, Lord? Why that, Lord? (JRE Link, 2018-1009 (Tue), WSE-MAIN)

 

"I don't care anymore." Don't ever say this or reach this point of desperation in your life.
The Lord needs you to care... about everything and everybody, and not just about yourself and
your own problems. There is important work in the gospel to do.

 

Day after day. Spite after spite. Will your murmuring against God ever cease?

 

The mentioning of my name in anger... don't do that.

 

You're talking to me. Your voice is heard. Your thoughts are heard (JRE Link, 2021-0928 (Tue), WSE-MAIN).

I've heard your words as you murmur, and what do you think my reaction is? It is simply
this—that you repent immediately (JRE Link, 2020-1108 (Sun), WSE-MAIN).

 

"We're still here," say the Father and Son after listening, hopeful now that your
murmuring has come to an end.

 

"Are you feeling better?" asks the Lord, wanting you to recover from murmuring fast and
find your way again.

 

I see your escape opportunity for murmuring.

 

Our best and happiest days are those when we are not murmuring (JRE Link, 2022-0821 (Sun), COM-STR2).

 

Righteousness is the best and quickest way to get what you need from God. Murmuring
will only slow down or bring to a halt the heavenly assistance you desire.

 

The trial will be much easier to endure if you are full of faith and don't murmur. You'll
have all of the resources of heaven at your disposal.

 

You look ridiculous when you murmur, spewing out the deceitful, horrible words of the
faithless of this earth.

 

First thing in the moment—quash those angry, murmuring passions before they take can
root; otherwise, they will consume your thoughts every day and fully engulf your soul.

 

Murmuring—You’re better if this thing doesn't control you. You're better. You're better.
You bet.

 

Murmuring—that rickety old habit. Try a little, try a lot, to overcome it.

 

Concentrate—mental discipline can be a great help to overcoming one's murmuring
problem.

 

Develop a successful, anti-murmuring strategy.

 

Counteract the murmuring impulses in your heart.

 

MA—Murmurers Anonymous. Share with others your story of how you overcame your
murmuring addiction (JRE Link, 2022-0506 (Fri), COM-STR2).

 

Just as you need to be morally clean, you need to be clean of all murmuring.

 

A murmur-free day, a murmur-free week, a murmur-free month... a murmur-free man (JRE Link, 2022-0506 (Fri), COM-STR2).

 

Murmur-free tribulation––that's what the Lord wants from us (JRE Link, 2019-0531 (Fri), COM-STR2).

Don't be the world's greatest murmurer. That's a terrible title for one to carry around in
life.

 

Murmuring is your first reaction when a trial comes along, and the Lord has to help you
rebuild your faith each time (JRE Link, 2018-1205 (Wed), COM-STR2).

 

Stand up to this great, evil hurricane that sometimes overtakes your soul—the angry
murmurer within you.

 

Damnation—murmuring is the pathway there.

 

Escape from the grasp of unbelief, murmuring, wickedness... whichever applies (JRE Link, 2019-0726 (Fri), COM-STR2).

 

Affliction has not stolen your life from you. Only murmuring and disobedience can do
that.

 

We've watched bitterness develop among us for quite some time. Our murmuring and
unbelief is well-entrenched. We need to change this immediately.

 

If you can overcome your bad habit of murmuring during trials, your heart will change—
like the Grinch atop the cold mountain—and your love of God will grow and grow and grow.

 

When murmuring stops, faith begins (JRE Link, 2019-0801 (Thu), WSE-MAIN).

 

Be positive, full of faith, and good things will happen.

 

Complaining—No. Longsuffering—Yes (JRE Link, 2021-0717 (Sat), COM-STR2).

 

I have no room to complain. The blessings of God fill all available space in my life.

 

I started out this morning intending to murmur, but thankfully, the Spirit softened my
heart and I humbly knelt in prayer, filled with gratitude to God (JRE Link, 2019-0603 (Mon), COM-STR2).

 

It's wrong to take sides against the Lord. Don't be Messala.

 

There are too many Sauls in the world and not enough Seths.

 

Don't be a Saul. Be a Paul.

 

You're made of Saul. You've lost your savor (JRE Link, 2018-0608 (Fri), COM-STR2).

 

You'll be damned, or you'll be raised to be at my right hand. It's your choice, Saul (JRE Link, 2018-0522 (Tue), WSE-MAIN).

 

Repent and leave the Saul years behind you.

Saul, believe!

 

UnSaul yourself. Rise up and throw off the chains of unbelief.

 

Being a Saul and persecuting the Church is not in one's best interest (JRE Link, 2018-0914 (Fri), COM-STR2).

 

Apostates should paint a mural of Saul and put it in their living rooms for inspiration.

 

Your lying mouth. You committed a Saul (JRE Link, 2019-0101 (Tue), WSE-MAIN).

 

Don't pay attention to what Saul says until he repents. His motivation comes from
beneath (JRE Link, 2018-0530 (Wed), WSE-MAIN).

 

Pray that Saul won't deceive you with his carefully crafted lies.

 

Saul leads the way... to destruction.

 

I'm Saul of old, enemy to God and man (JRE Link, 2022-0218 (Fri), WSE-AP).

 

You're Saul, and you haven't repented. You're eliminated from salvation.

 

Why should we listen to Church leaders when Saul is here to teach us right from wrong?
We also have the popular culture on TV, in movies, and on the Internet to provide direction in
our lives.

 

There are two sides to every issue with respect to Church policy, Church doctrine, or
Church history. The views of the enemies of the Church lead the headlines and are well-
represented in the news. But what is the Spirit of the Lord's view in these matters? I think you
know the answer.

 

The words of the Spirit are pure truth, and therefore, devastating to the unbeliever.

 

Blind is blind for the unbeliever. He refuses to see what he could see, and what he should
see (JRE Link, 2018-0908 (Sat), COM-STR2).

 

Expectations are doom for unbelievers.

 

Unbelief––a failure of faith in God and truth to win the day in your life.

 

Unbelief gets in the way of righteousness and the good things of eternity.

 

An unbeliever is a ship without a rudder (JRE Link, 2019-0308 (Fri), COM-STR2).

God will never infringe upon an unbeliever’s free agency. The glory of unbelief, in this
life and the next, awaits you, if that's what you truly desire.

 

The losing streak of the unbeliever will continue on beyond this life (JRE Link, 2019-0206 (Wed), COM-STR2).

 

You need to treat your hard-heartedness. Lay aside disbelief (JRE Link, 2018-0630 (Sat), COM-STR2).

 

Align yourself with the laws of God. You've been told the truth already (JRE Link, 2018-0520 (Sun), COM-STR2).

 

Quit wrestling with the truth (JRE Link, 2017-0628 (Wed), WSE-MAIN).

 

Don't sweep the truth under the rug (JRE Link, 2017-0630 (Fri), WSE-MAIN).

 

Don't sin against the light and truth you already have. Knowledge of God and His ways
has a great responsibility that goes with it (JRE Link, 2017-0317 (Fri), COM-STR2).

 

You really, really need to believe. The words of God are more than just good counsel (JRE Link, 2019-0320 (Wed), WSE-MAIN).

 

We've been added to by truth. We've been subtracted from by disbelieve (JRE Link, 2018-0912 (Wed), COM-STR2).

 

We backed away from truth.

 

We are no longer just somewhat committed. Now we have no testimony at all.

 

I suppose it could be true. But we're not prepared for the truth right now (JRE Link, 2018-1203 (Mon), COM-STR2).

 

We see no reason to embrace the truth in our lives. That is just one among many lifestyle
choices (JRE Link, 2018-1130 (Fri), COM-STR2).

 

We want the freedom to depart from the truth. The truth is no longer our friend (JRE Link, 2019-0323 (Sat), COM-STR2).

 

There's the way of truth, and there's the opposite way. We'll go in the opposite way.

 

We don't hear you. We don’t hear the truth spoken because we're so busy and distracted.
The things of the world are so much more interesting to us (JRE Link, 2017-0904 (Mon), COM-STR2).

 

We stepped away from the truth for convenience sake (JRE Link, 2018-1219 (Wed), COM-STR2).

 

We are underwhelmed by the truth of God. It's the false teachings of men that makes our
lives sweet.

 

The truth falls upon our deaf ears and our unbelieving hearts (JRE Link, 2019-0607 (Fri), WSE-MAIN).

 

It makes no difference to us whether the Church is true or not. Apathy toward the things
of God is our religion (JRE Link, 2017-0917 (Sun), COM-STR2).

We couldn't care less. Truth is not a driving force in our lives (JRE Link, 2018-0111 (Thu), COM-STR2).

 

We are more afraid of what others may think about us than we are of being disobedient to
God.

 

Our testimonies are diminished. There is silence within us (JRE Link, 2018-1030 (Tue), WSE-MAIN).

 

Keep your Lord to yourself. We don't want the Spirit of God in our lives (JRE Link, 2018-0911 (Tue), COM-STR2).

 

It's our war on faith to win or lose. And unfortunately, we will lose (JRE Link, 2018-0911 (Tue), COM-STR2).

 

Lord, please stop showing forth signs, wonders, and miracles before our eyes and just
leave us alone. Let us live our life of opposition to the Church in peace (JRE Link, 2019-0127 (Sun), COM-STR2).

 

The Church doesn't work for us. We need to adopt the apostate way of life to find true
happiness (JRE Link, 2019-0827 (Tue), COM-STR2).

 

We locked the door against truth. Our apostasy from the Church is now more firmly
established (JRE Link, 2019-1001 (Tue), COM-STR2).

 

The life of the apostate will feel more and more like it's incomplete as time goes by,
lacking the Spirit (JRE Link, 2018-1227 (Thu), COM-STR2).

 

"We recommend that you don't go to church today," say apostates on Sunday morning.
They know what's best for you.

 

There are two ways to apostatize from the Church––noisily through the front door or
quietly through the backdoor. In either case, you will be found "guilty of a wasted life" at the last
day.

 

A fallen legacy. A sad outcome (JRE Link, 2018-0528 (Mon), COM-STR2).

 

Well, I'll be damned. I guess I should have taken the salvation of my soul more seriously (JRE Link, 2018-0526 (Sat), COM-STR2).

 

I'm sorry. I don't believe. I was born that way and can't change. Miracles won't sway me (JRE Link, 2018-0928 (Fri), COM-STR2).

 

That's impossible. Faith can't do that (JRE Link, 2018-0922 (Sat), WSE-AP).

 

Don’t ignore the Spirit. Don't ignore the Church.

 

To dismiss the guidance of the Spirit is to dismiss eternal life and exaltation (JRE Link, 2018-0620 (Wed), COM-STR2).

 

Follow the Spirit... or be damned.

 

It is every Church member's responsibility to not fall away.

Every member that falls away is a significant loss to the Church. Don't be one of those.
It's your loss, and it's our loss, too. A double tragedy (JRE Link, 2019-1002 (Wed), COM-STR2).

 

Those who fall way have their free agency, but not salvation (JRE Link, 2017-1029 (Sun), COM-STR2).

 

That's the way it should be. Following the truth is the natural thing to do (JRE Link, 2018-0524 (Thu), WSE-MAIN).

 

You're fortunate to know the truth. The truth is not controversial to a child of God.

 

The Church will move forward and achieve her goals with or without you.

 

The truth has become a stumbling block for you (JRE Link, 2018-0930 (Sun), WSE-MAIN).

 

Truth has become your enemy. You are fighting against it (JRE Link, 2019-0114 (Mon), COM-STR2).

 

Your bad example is putting other souls at risk, not just your own. Don't bet your
children and grandchildren against the truth (JRE Link, 2019-0114 (Mon), COM-STR2).

 

If you walk away from truth, your happiness in life will be compromised.

 

Truth is a hot scoop. It will melt your icy heart (JRE Link, 2017-0410 (Mon), COM-STR2).

 

I warmed your heart with the Spirit, but still you are cold in faith. Why?

 

You've lost your spark in the gospel. Your countenance is less bright, a quarter-lantern
only, not a full lantern.

 

The life of thee needs to change. Underline "thee."

 

Pride is causing you to trip over yourself and fall (JRE Link, 2019-0825 (Sun), WSE-MAIN).

 

You've turned your back to me as you walk away from the Church (JRE Link, 2019-0825 (Sun), WSE-MAIN).

 

Your anger––that's what the Spirit is up against (JRE Link, 2019-0825 (Sun), WSE-MAIN).

 

Are there any words of heaven powerful enough that will convince you to believe? (JRE Link, 2018-1215 (Sat), COM-STR2)

 

I am the Almighty. Will you listen to me? Does my counsel matter to you? (JRE Link, 2018-1016 (Tue), WSE-MAIN)

 

Will you obey me? How many signs do you need to see? (JRE Link, 2018-1016 (Tue), WSE-MAIN)

 

You've had 5000 signs. The Church is filled with them.

 

Signs are given. Signs are ignored (JRE Link, 2018-1030 (Tue), WSE-MAIN).

 

The Church is not your enemy. Unbelief is the enemy (JRE Link, 2018-0929 (Sat), COM-STR2).

 

Will you lie before your God? Apostasy is not golden. It is a canker to the soul (JRE Link, 2017-0902 (Sat), COM-STR2).

 

Apostasy––the start of something very angry.

 

Apostasy—the act of perishing, of literally losing your soul (JRE Link, 2019-1217 (Tue), COM-STR2).

 

Apostates snap their mouths like turtles, lacking compassion for others in their
mannerisms and everyday speech.

 

Apostates spin the people around in circles with their errant sayings.

 

Apostates are exceedingly expert at promulgating false teachings (JRE Link, 2019-0518 (Sat), WSE-MAIN).

 

Apostates—turning away hearts from that which is good.

 

My friend, the apostate, has taught me all the wonderful truths of falling away (JRE Link, 2018-1219 (Wed), COM-STR2).

 

As an apostate, I will be lying through the day of judgment (JRE Link, 2018-1004 (Thu), COM-STR2).

 

Apostates want the truth to be something different from what it is. Atheists are like that,
too (JRE Link, 2019-0126 (Sat), COM-STR2).

 

And tragically, apostates will sometimes leave behind their faith in God completely and
become atheists––the one thing leading to the other (JRE Link, 2019-0126 (Sat), COM-STR2).

 

Hardened apostates are not seeking after knowledge of the Church's divinity. They roam
the earth seeking to destroy the Church.

 

Apostates say to the members of the Church—Please, have trouble. We don’t want you to
do well. That would undermine our faith in apostate beliefs and make us look bad (JRE Link, 2020-0429 (Wed), COM-STR2).

 

Apostates say to the leaders of the Church—We need more than the Holy Ghost as a
witness. We are not satisfied yet (JRE Link, 2017-0922 (Fri), COM-STR2).

 

They've got the new you planned out—apostates leading you away to a "happier life."

 

The members of the Church can't do marvelous works in the world. Our unbelief will
stop them somehow (JRE Link, 2018-0928 (Fri), COM-STR2).

 

I don't know if righteousness and following the Spirit is the best choice for me right now.
Apostasy seems like the way to go (JRE Link, 2019-0602 (Sun), COM-STR2).

 

An apostate is a wandering fool.

 

Apostasy—a thousand new problems in your life just waiting to happen (JRE Link, 2020-0606 (Sat), COM-STR2).

 

Apostasy makes you a hostile witness to the Church.

 

Don't follow the apostate handbook (JRE Link, 2018-0717 (Tue), COM-STR2).

 

Apostate leaders care very little for the souls of those who follow them. Be neither an
apostate leader nor follower (JRE Link, 2019-0513 (Mon), COM-STR2).

 

Apostates have done so much to undermine the work of the Lord. They need to speedily
repent and come to grips with their own salvation (JRE Link, 2019-0322 (Fri), COM-STR2).

 

The works of the apostate are the works of darkness (JRE Link, 2018-0705 (Thu), COM-STR2).

 

The apostate writes devilish things. Angels of hate lead him forward in his terrible work
to destroy souls (JRE Link, 2019-0201 (Fri), COM-STR2).

 

Apostasy leads to spiritual death (JRE Link, 2018-0409 (Mon), COM-STR2).

 

Spiritual death is the death of the soul––the loss of salvation. It's not good. It must be
avoided at all costs.

 

Bad decisions lead to bad outcomes. Apostasy is a bad outcome (JRE Link, 2019-0806 (Tue), COM-STR2).

 

Apostasy is to drive on the wrong side of the road, and in the wrong direction, away from
eternal happiness.

 

Look ahead on the path you are on to where earth meets the sky and mortality meets
immortality.

 

You've reached a fork in the road. Your life is at a judgment point (JRE Link, 2018-1205 (Wed), COM-STR2).

 

What will it be? Truth or error? Good or evil? (JRE Link, 2018-1205 (Wed), COM-STR2)

 

You can work towards your salvation or work towards your destruction (JRE Link, 2019-0114 (Mon), COM-STR2).

 

Two acts of damnation––leaving the Church and fighting against the Church.

 

Those who have fallen away—stage 1 apostasy.

Those who are consumed by evil—stage 2 apostasy.

 

Succeed in leading away souls at your own peril. Eternal ruin awaits (JRE Link, 2018-0529 (Tue), COM-STR2).

 

Evil, bitterness, and terribleness of soul––Final Judgment awaits.

 

Saul... Korihor... Cain... as deep into wickedness as you care to go. What a tragedy your
life will be! (JRE Link, 2018-0708 (Sun), COM-STR2)

 

Don't let bitterness remake your soul and put you on the path of evil forever... like Cain (JRE Link, 2021-1223 (Thu), COM-STR2).

 

Your Cain brilliance. Being a talented and highly accomplished apostate is not a good
thing. Developing your skills in this area will only increase your condemnation (JRE Link, 2021-0929 (Wed), COM-STR2).

 

You stand in opposition to the Spirit of the Lord. Damnation is coming unless there is a
change in you (JRE Link, 2022-0116 (Sun), COM-STR2).

 

Suffice it to say, it's up to you. You can be one of the most terrible of souls... you have
that option. But why take that evil and forbidden path? (JRE Link, 2022-0216 (Wed), COM-STR2)

 

Satan—He knows the truth, but doesn't follow it. Don't make the same mistake (JRE Link, 2022-0114 (Fri), COM-STR2).

 

The way you treat the Latter-day Saints is the way the Lord will treat you.

 

I'm trying to communicate with you-hoo. I've spoken through modern prophets and
apostles, but you are not listening (JRE Link, 2019-0228 (Thu), WSE-MAIN).

 

Undeliverable—your heart is rejecting the truth being spoken.

 

The truth is manifest in both word and deed among the Latter-day Saints.

 

Those who oppose the Church and fight against it are doing a great disservice to
mankind (JRE Link, 2019-1227 (Fri), WSE-MAIN).

 

Church opponents—Their knowledge is limited. Their criticisms are based on faulty
information (JRE Link, 2019-1227 (Fri), WSE-MAIN).

 

It begins now—the time granted to make restitution for the past crimes you've committed
against the work of God (JRE Link, 2019-0104 (Fri), COM-STR2).

 

Shall we continue betraying the Lord as enemies of His Church? Or shall we repent?

 

I'm warning you. The truth will overcome you. Repentance is your only recourse. Do it
now (JRE Link, 2020-0130 (Thu), COM-STR2).

 

Falling into apostasy was your fault. Don't blame the deceivers for the mistake you made
yourself (JRE Link, 2021-1021 (Thu), COM-STR2).

 

Rather than go further and further into the depths of apostasy, stand up, be valiant, and
lead the fallen around you back to God (JRE Link, 2021-1021 (Thu), COM-STR2).

 

There is good in all people. There is good in you.

 

Repent, turn your life around, and a glorious resurrection is yours.

 

Find your way back....

This is God telling you, asking you, pleading with you to join in with the active members
